What the club says: The opening first four holes are considered a tough start by all our visitors and the player who completes them in one or two over par may be your eventual winner. Six par threes, two of them over 200 yards, four par fours over 400 yards, four par fives and four par fours of 269 yards to 379 yards make up the 18 holes. The course measures 6064 yards from the Yellow tees and has a Par and SSS of 70.

This will test your handicap
What a start to this Jamees Braid course - par 4, par 3, par 5 and a par 3, 225 yards........if you are on or below your handicap you are off to a great start. Course then climbs up to the top where the par 4 will test you for length and direction until the 16th, 204 yards par 3 over the valley leads you on to fine par 5 finishing hole finishing hole and the clubhouse with a good selection of beers and good food.Reviewer Rating

Henley GC. A great course-Well worth a visit
Entered in a Mixed Pairs competition and was looking forward to playing at Henley GC, as I'd heard good things about the course. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by the club professional, Mark Howell, who I have to add, was a great host throughout my visit, I was made to feel as if I had been a club member for years. The coffee and bacon roll were a good start to the day. The clubhouse is decent with a good variety of beverages on offer and the pro-shop has a good selection of golfing items that you'd expect. As for the course, it was in excellent condition. The teeboxes were on the main, level, the fairways well kept and tidy and the greens were quick, with subtle breaks and slopes that were difficult, but also fair on some holes. I'm just going to let you know my favourite holes, as it won't be the same for everyone else. The 5th hole, a short-mid-length par-4 that has a sloping left to right fairway. When on the fairway, there are several hawthorn bushes standing like sentries on the approach to the green, giving a great visual view. The short par-4 6th hole, where the tee-shot is uphill, with a blind view of the hole. The approach is slightly downhill, with the green sitting in a small bowl, with drop-offs from the fairway to it. The 13th a short-ish par-3 with a very narrow entrance to the green with overhanging tree branches, that make you think how you want to play the shot. The 15th, which is a sweeping, downhill, then uphill left to right, dogleg par-4, that tempts you to go for it, but danger lurks to the front left of the green, so be aware. The par-3 16th, that is over 200 yards. It's all downhill from an elevated tee area. It's great visually, but the problem with the hole is that the green has severe slopes and breaks and to walk of with a par is a great result. And finallt the par-5 18th. Not long, but a good finishing hole. A straight drive is needed, but don't go too far as there is a hiddenn fairway bunker, that is part of bothe the 1st and 18th fairways. You're better going further left towards the 1st fairway to leave a mid to short iro to a large green that slopes from right to left. These are just my favourite holes. Others will have their own. The meal after, was OK, but there wasn't enough of it, but it was nice. My only criticism of Henley is that some of the practice facilities need addressing. The putting green near the clubhouse is tiny, with just 4 holes on it. If there's more that 4 people on it, it's congested ! There is only one driving net that I noticed at the side of the pro-shop and is very very close to the 1st teebox area. One other thing I found strange, was that was a chipping area to a small green, in the centre of the course, at the back of the 14th green and the walkway from tee to green of the par-3, 11th hole. A bit off-putting when you're tee-ing off or putting out on either of those holes. The issue I believe is that they haven't got the space to increase the putting green area or provide more driving nets and move the chipping area, so they have had to make do with what they've got. The car park is also on the small side, but parking is available in the cricket club opposite the golf club. All-in-all, I'd thoroughly recommend a visit to Henley GC. You won't be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Georgous Course, Gorgeous Views
I pretty much only have good things to about Henley GC. It started with the very pleasant welcome in the well stocked proshop, and continued once out in the scenic Oxfordshire countryside.Be aware that a lot of the holes on this course are on the top of a hill, and that to get to those holes it involves some climbing. I could be wrong, but most of that climb seems to come on one hole, the par four sixth. Once up there though, it's mostly level walking until it's time to head back down again (16th & 17th holes).
The whole course is very scenic and there are are some very lovely holes to be played. You can take your pick on your favourites really. Mine starts with the short par 3 thirteenth, which I imagine is georgeous once the surrounding oaks have leaves on them. Both the downhill 16th and 17th holes have wonderful views as a backdrop, but that might just be my lungs choosing those particular holes.
The greens had recently been treated so it would be unfair for me to be too critical of those, but I would expect them to be better once Spring is here. The fairways seemed fairly freindly, I don't recall any super scary tees shots anyway, and most of the tees were in great condition for early March.
I don't know if it's open all of the time, it was on the Monday that I played here, but there's a halfway hut after the 9th.
My advice is play here and make up your own mind about Henley GC. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it though.

Lovely Course ~ grw eat condition and lovey layout
Played a trial round here as thinking of joining. Very friendly staff and set in a lovely parkland setting. The greens all roll evenly and true though a few have had some recent drainage work but are well on the mend.. Some challenging holes and a good test of golf. I will certainly return.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 77 Handicap: 9.1)

Great fun
Tough first few holes as your climbing up, but when you reach the top its a great course, with some fun holes.A couple of the greens were a bit worn but still ran well.
I loved the 17th a great par 3 and the 18th reachable in two for a eagle chance.
Lovely traditional club house with nice staff.
I paid ?25 twilight well worth that price.

Nice relaxed course - nasty manager.
it's quite a fun course, the greens were "ok" a bit bobbly and some gaps in the grass but they were quite fast and January is a tough time of year for greenkeepers. The Pro-shop staff were nice, watch out for the horrible batty woman in the clubhouse who shouted at my brother for accidentally still having his cap on inside.
