What the club says: Established in 1912, Heaton Park Golf Course is located within the scenic grounds of Heaton Park, Manchester. The 18 hole par 70 course, voted the best municipal course in Great Britain in 2005 was designed by 5 times Open Champion, John Henry Taylor and is 5,755 yards in length. This parkland course offers spectacular views across to the Pennines and surrounding countryside. The signature 11th hole is played across water and former Open Champion, Henry Cotton once described the long par-3 hole as “the toughest par-3 in England”. Open daily, we welcome all standards of golfers, from juniors and novices to the more senior and advanced golfer, we can also cater for golf societies.

The Clubhouse is open daily from 8am and we welcome golfers and non-golfers to enjoy the food and beverage on offer. We have all Sky Sports and BT Sports channels and there is a function room available to hire for private parties and funerals.

First round for tears, fairways much improved - previously used to be heavily divoted from uncaring players. Greens almost immaculate and running true - massive improvement and worthy of ma
n+y upmarket courses.Well done the new management.

In my opinion the best municipal in the north west and potentially the country, well done for pulling this course back from the brink of 2no closures and COVID restrictions, please note it's a tough walk with many hills and blind shots, only minor issue is the collapsed bridge which has resulted in revised layout, manchester MBC please resolve soon.

Course very damp after heavy rains, but greens relatively fast and true. bunkers washed out, Fairways boggy in places but otherwise holding up, sadly too many 'scalps' and furrows ploughed in the fairways - why don't people learn the basics and replace divots etc. Tees a bit rough but not on mats. Major change, hole 14 now playing as last - apparently damage to bridge between 15th tee and it's fairway so shortened 15th plays after hole 13.

Course very long, hilly and very challenging. Paid to park my car but still got a parking ticket £25 for being slightly out of a bay, due to the car parked next to me being right on the edge of his bay. What a joke, won’t be returning here !

Testing course for first timers on this course. Lots of blind shots and lots of long carri es over valleys which are quite daunting for the shorter hitters. For a public course, it's really good. Need to be fit as there are some hard climbs!!

Difficult course but great value!

A very tough challenge...lots of blind tee shots due to the hilly course. hole 11 is fantastic and 13 is a drivable par 4 downhill.
