What the club says: The Course is a fine example of traditional links golf, laid out on predominantly sandy ground over 100 years ago, and famous for the quality and stability of the greens. While modern irrigation is now used to ensure that the course is in optimal condition all year round, this does not detract from the links feel.

OK course
Course layout/challenge The course was well laid out with holes both inside the horse-racing track, and outside. There was a mainly links feel to the course, with dunes and course grass around.Club and Facilities The clubhouse is reasonably well laid out, with all the facilities you would expect. Also a reasonably large outdoor seating area for when the weather is better.
Value for money Played with a couple of members, and they had arranged an even better than usual guest rate, which was agreed because we were not in full season, and there is plenty of choice on other courses for people to play.
Pace of play The course was quite busy with a men’s stableford competition in play, but pace was still acceptable. It seemed that unless you were very wayward, it was always quite easy to find your ball. The gorse was the only real hazard which might slow down pace of play, although being a coastal course, I imagine when the wind gets up, pace of play will slow down.
Friendliness and hospitality Because we were with members, we were treated very well by all the staff, but I also got the impression this was the way all guests would be treated. Very friendly club.
Course conditions This is difficult to assess. The greens were quick, and the tees and bunkers were acceptable, but the fairways were a disaster, with no colour to the grass, which itself was very patchy. Preferred lies was in place, so we could tee it up on very dry grass when the ball inevitably rolled into a bare patch.
Practice facilities There are practice chipping and putting areas, and a couple of nets for driving practice.
Food and drink. We had booked breakfast, which I thoroughly enjoyed. All the usual items, and cooked well. The bar was also well stocked for those not driving.
Would you – Recommend Yes; but don’t expect too much from the course.
Play again Yes

Traditional links style. Challenging par 3's, well maintained greens and the front 9 is very interesting to pick and play your way round. Great food.Reviewer Rating

Windy links
At £35 per round albeit on a Saturday afternoon I think this is a little over priced. Nice to play links golf but the course was in poor condition on a number of fairways. So much so that Preferred Lies was in operation. Greens were super though.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 84 Handicap: 16.9)

A good links course....the original layout of 13 holes is a solid links course, some really interesting holes - the 11th probably the standout. Does feel like two different courses though - the start and finishing (5 holes total which I presume is the newest part of the course) feel like a bog standard parkland courseReviewer Rating

Holiday Golf @ Yarmouth
What a great course a links course in the middle of Great Yarmouth. Due to the actual race course it has some interesting local rules. You need to be accurate on some of the holes, however other have open fairways. We played well considering this was our first time we had played, would love to have another round.Reviewer Rating

You will get the best conditions at the start of summer or Autumn as it can get quite dry after lots of hot weather.
The greens and bunker were perfect.

Don't be fooled by the first tee and having to go through the race course twice.... its no micky mouse course...
Course management is the key... its a good links course and everyone very friendly.
If you like golf and horse racing combine the day!
