What the club says: This parkland designed course plays much like a links. The entire layout has been designed and built to USGA specifications with sand based greens and tees. The course is tricky with its natural slopes and valleys combining with very up and down greens and some 90 bunkers. With truly magnificent panoramic views of the Wicklow Mountains and the Irish Sea, the designer McEvoy claimed, 'the views made this site a designer's dream.'

Glen of the Downs is a lovely parkland course overlooking the Sugar Loaf with views of the sea at Greystones on the other side. The course is in excellent condition and the friendliness of the staff is renowned. Quality of food is excellent although full restaurant prices are charged. One to add to your itinerary when you are in South Dublin or Wicklow,

A wonderful course on the footsteps of The Sugar Loaf. The greens are an interesting challenge with loads of subtle breaks......no straight putts. The fairways have been narrowed from the last time I reviewed this course and the rough is in 'meadow' format........the secret is to stay way from it. Bunkers in great condition but trust me.......no need to go in to check my review of them.

A lovely course in a beautiful setting. Course shortened as white, yellow, green and red tee boxes all on one tee box. Placing everywhere and bunkers out of play. Still struggled to score well.

A superb inland course with fantastic fairways and challenging greens with hidden inclines. One of those genuine courses which looks relatively easy but will take you to be on top of your game to beat it. The scenery from this course is astounding between The Little Sugar Loaf, the Sugar Loaf, the sea at Greystones as well as natural country heritage of cows, sheep and horses alongside. One would have to have greater personal problems not to really enjoy a round of golf on this course. Clubhouse unique and staff really friendly! Seán

This is the best championship course I played all year. The course was in excellent condition and was a serious test for every part of my game. The pro-shop guys were excellent and so were the Captain, Lady Captain and the very courteous members we interacted with. Best golf outing of the year. Thanks!

Played this twice now as I live in the UK and my in laws live in Bray. Very nice open course and a course that is set up for a good day with 3 of your mates as plenty of birdie opportunities if you drive the ball well

The greens have just been pole forked so it makes the putting that bit more difficult these days. The fiarways are Still in great condition. The rough is cut back so you cannot lose a ball.
