What the club says: Set in over 165 acres of peaceful Hampshire countryside, Basingtoke Golf Club offers its golfers great playing and practice facilities. The Par 72 course was designed by Peter Alliss taking into account the natural beauty of the area whilst introducing numerous lakes, undulations and bunkers to further enhance golfers interest.
With a major redevelopment plan due to start in 2022, this venue is one to watch for the future.

New Course now Open - To members
After 2 years development the new holes has been opened in stages. On Saturday the final 5 holes were opened for captains day. The 10th hole will play as a par 3 on weekdays as there is still development work on the new driving range.New clubhouse opened as well looks great and with existing house staff it's going to be great.
Range and short game area will open in 2025.

Improving every week
I was a member at Dummer and since the purchase by Basingstoke GC the course has improved considerably due to the number of greenkeepers working on the course and the very much improved machinery. Currenty greens are in recovery from vericutting last week but roll true and with some pace.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 83 Handicap: 12.6)

Top course off the whites
Off the whites the course is a better mix of holes. Yellows only have 1 par 5 it 3 on the whites giving a good mix. Great greens and fairways and an undulating course.Reviewer Rating

Good test
Good range of holes and good play will do well while errant shots won't always punish you as much as on some other courses. Always drains well and drier than other recent courses.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 96 Handicap: 18)

Good under circs
Course was in fair condition, ground quite hard and difficult greens but considering we have had very little rain for 2 months all okay.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 88 Handicap: 17.1)

Open for visitors...
My home club which is the only course locally that has been open for visitors since golf resumed after lockdown. Getting a tee time can be difficult and with the high volume of traffic and virtually no rain in two months the course is very dry. However green staff doing everything possible to keep the greens in very good order.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 92 Handicap: 15.7)
