What the club says: All holes on the course have different playing tactics due to the undulation of the course. From the first tee the course appears to climb for the first two holes, but once you are on the second green any inclines after that are not too noticeable. Your thoughts are taken up with the challenge the course sets and the superb scenery. Overall the experience is of rolling fairways lined with heather and heath.

The 7th hole is one of the shortest holes in Scotland at 67 yards off the visitors tee across a deep gully and has been described as a testing picturesque little hole. The 9th tee is one of the highest in the UK at 1,294 feet above sea level, while the stunning 10th tee stands at 1,213 feet with a magnificent view of the town and has a vertical drop of 339ft from tee to green.

Great view from the course.

Very scenic course, with interesting holes, although very steep and hilly in places.
If at all possible get a golf buggy.

Lovely golf course with some really great challenging holes, Played today for the first time in sunny conditions and some of the views on the way round were worth the fees alone. However, a word of warning to anyone wishing to try this course. The physical challenge of walking round this course may not be suitable for everyone. If fitness levels are a bit suspect (myself included) then the buggy hire option might be the way to go. For me the physical challenge would hinder me playing the course again.

Great course

Great course and friendly club. Started out too fast and first two holes are uphill. Buggy would ease the effort. First time of playing and would certainly repeat. Seventh and tenth holes are challenging.

Played there this weekend. We had sunshine on the 7th, hail on the 9th. Quite an open course you can smash your drives on most holes. I've been a couple of times and it's never busy. A buggy is a really good idea - very hard work otherwise as its built on the side of a cliff. They've started tidying up some of the longer stuff which looks better without reducing the challenge. Generally, worth the trip.

Nice course on the side of a hill...buggy required unless your feeling fit...greens need some work and cut
