What the club says: The 'front nine' is renowned as a real test for any golfer. The tree-line tight fairways of the par 4s are especially challenging. Wayward drives usually mean a difficult second shot or a chip out onto the fairway. To finish the 'front nine' is the dog-legged 495 yard 9th - a real birdie chance for straight hitters.
The 'back nine' has its own special holes too, including the long but fair par 5 13th. A particular favourite of many is the par 4 15th which has a copse on the right ready to devour golf balls from the slightly off-line drives of the bold who try to save yards by aiming up the right-hand side of the fairway!

Neglected Wasteland Unworthy of the Price
Sinfin Golf Club has become an utter disaster under its new ownership. The once-respected course is now a wasteland, where the greens are scarred beyond repair, riddled with divots, and practically devoid of grass. Playing here feels like an exercise in frustration. The tee boxes are so poorly maintained, they might as well be on a ski slope—good luck finding your footing, let alone taking a stable shot without slipping. The bunkers? Forget it. They’re filled with compacted clay, making them nearly impossible to play out of. And as for the ditches, they’re more like dumping grounds, littered with rusty bikes and abandoned pushchairs—honestly, it feels like you’re wandering through a junkyard instead of a golf course. The overall scruffiness of the place is staggering, and it’s clear that absolutely no care or pride is taken in its upkeep.
Despite these appalling conditions, Sinfin Golf Club still clings to its old SIV branding, like some relic from a bygone era. Meanwhile, the clubhouse is a joke. It’s trying to charge Waitrose prices while offering a Tesco Express experience—if you consider microwaved bacon “experience” at all. It’s absurd.
The most disturbing part, though, is the unchecked vandalism. Local troublemakers, some in balaclavas, rip out flagsticks, snap bunker rakes, and generally run wild, adding a layer of chaos to the already grim atmosphere. Since Link Golf took over, they’ve not just mismanaged the club—they’ve gutted its soul. What once had charm and community has become an overpriced, rundown dump.
For the absurd price of a tee time, you’d be far better off heading to Morley Hayes. At least there, you’ll actually find a course that’s playable. Sinfin is, simply put, a disgrace to golf.

Great condition ?. But full the bunkers
Course was in fabulous condition, greens were soft which was great for the heat. The bunkers however were terrible, all the sand at the bottom so every bunker shot was like hitting of concrete. Some very tricky pins that were 4 paces on in places.Reviewer Rating

Late night round
Quick impromptu round. Flat course, maturing nicely. Played here 20 odd years ago or more. Much better with age.Reviewer Rating

Excellent value
Course continues to improve now not under council control. I really enjoy playing here, it's tight and you need to think about your shots. Greens were slow today but that's not surprising due to the amount of rain we've hadReviewer Rating
