What the club says: Championship Course - Dartmouth Golf and Country Club hosts 27 holes created from the dramatic contours of the surrounding landscape and all designed to championship standard. The 6,663 yard, par 72 Championship Course, which has regularly hosted the Western Region PGA Matchplay Championships, has been designed to challenge the most proficient golfer, although the strategic positioning of the tees guarantees that the course provides an exacting and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Dartmouth (Dartmouth) - The 9 hole par 33 Dartmouth Course offers a more relaxed challenge but nevertheless the holes have been built to the same exacting technical standards as the Championship Course.

Still challenging
Revisiting after a 14yr absence. Course is in good condition and as challenging as ever. Particularly the 4th hole. Championship course is busy and consequently pace of play is on the slow side.Really enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly. Hotel a bit tired but good food and comfortable.

A really good course and amazing value break
Stayed for a three day, three round break. The staff are great, the course has interest and really great design on virtually every hole. Pace of play has been really good. Resort is three stars and a little tired, but the food and spa are pretty good. Genuinely enjoyable stay and well worth the money.Reviewer Rating

Tough hard course but well worth playing.
Course is very challenging but if you're straight and can putt you will be fine.Tee boxes could do with some work though.

Good course, but long!
Very good course, which is a great challenge with a variety of different types of holes.Well worth a visit but a buggy is a must due to the length between holes.

The course itself is a good test for any golfer, although picturesque you need to keep your eye on the ball at all times.
Many of the holes are blind from the tee which makes for an interesting journey to your second shot. Some well hidden bunkers give a nasty surprise at some holes. Purchasing a course guide is very beneficial.
Overall a great experience and I cannot wait to play here again
A trip to the restaurant after your game for a well earned rest and a bite to eat rounds off the day. Food excellent, staff welcoming and friendly

Course was lovely and very interesting, Greens were big with plenty of contours which were hard to read. Fairways were very good and layout of the holes was very interesting. Some great holes. Worst thing was the bunkers which were poor, little sand & unraked. Quite a walk between greens and some tees(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 95 Handicap: 11.5)

A very picturesque course worth a visit
A very difficult course with lot's of sloping fairways unfortunately the course was very wet when I played it but it was still very enjoyable and taxing a buggy is a must.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 94 Handicap: 17)

A Tough Walk
Played here March , 2020.We hadn't planned to play here but this was about the only course in the Torquay area that had 18 holes open with only a few temporaries during a long spell of terrible weather. They did us a twilight rate of £14 which was good value .
Firstly ,it is a long course & a very hard walk round .It's really a buggy course, not that i use them & on a sign at the entrance they offer free buggy use with membership which i have't seen before .
Unfortunately we played in strong winds and drizzle ( the course held up well ) so we didn't get the benefits of the views which are probably one of the courses attributes .Some of the early holes were quite dramatic ( holes 3 ,4 &5 ) .Ten was a good hole but the rest are well designed but fairly standard American style parkland holes .
A couple of the holes were a bit silly .Although 10 is a good hole off the separate back tee near the clubhouse you have to carry trees a bit below & can't see where your ball ends up which could mean a lost ball & a long walk back to the tee & the back tees on 18 could easily wreck a card as you have to carry water which will be too long for most ,particularly into wind & with no bail out area.
The course was well conditioned & held up well in the atrocious conditions .
Overall , if you don't have a buggy expect a hard walk ,try to play on a nice day for the scenery & the course will probably be open when others may not be during poor weather spells .
Having played it now i wouldn't be that fussed about playing it again mainly due to its terrain but it was a shame we weren't able to play it on a sunny day.

Well worth visiting.
Lovely Location with some stunning views and holes. Played Championship course Sunday and 18 holes on Dartmouth on Monday( 2 rounds on 9 hole course) Walked both days but would recommend a buggy as few climbs around the course. Both Championship and Dartmouth courses offer different challenges. Hole 3 on championship course is a stunning hole and all the better for me as cane away with a Par 3.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 108 Handicap: 22.6)
