What the club says: Cradoc Golf Club is a stunning 18-hole parkland golf course set on the northern side of the Usk valley some 2 miles from the charming town of Brecon in Mid Wales. The course, that is the epitome of the phrase "golf as it should be" for the relaxed, friendly and unhurried nature of the game, was designed by C K Cotton in 1967 to take advantage of the rolling Mid Wales hills and the stunningly beautiful views. It is noted for its natural surroundings, including mature tree lined fairways and an occasional water hazard, and gives golfers a challenging, yet entertaining, test of their golf. As a point of interest, the third hole, a short par 3 green, has been featured in an advertisement on Sky Television. Three holes, the 7th, 8th and 9th, have recently been remodelled to eliminate a strenuous climb, so that the current 6188 yards off the white tees is a pleasant walk.

Red clay.

Went into the shop, looked up and down by the pro without him saying anything. Had some mud on my trousers from the previous day, not sure why he was worried after seeing how people came in off the course. First two holes really good; tight holes. Hole four second shot along way up the hill. Sixth very tough hole. Great view to the left of five. Eighth hole another tight hole: framed by some walls on either side at the start; a big tree features. 9th and 11th way down the hill. 12th the feature hole; great backdrop; downhill par 3. Went in after 12; very slow; seniors day; was let through by one four-ball. Spoke to two nice members after and one in the clubhouse; friendly people. Would play again in better conditions and wouldn't choose a seniors day. Greens were firm on a very soft course.

Good course in Brecon

Very good course 18 testing holes. Accuracy is key on most of the holes due to the layout of the course with some tree lines at the side of the fairways.

Beautiful Views, Interesting course

Stunning views of the Brecon Beacon Mountain ranges, the course is in excellent condition. A interesting mix of dog legs and long straight holes and cheeky par threes.

Great course, Great staff

Can't recommend enough, course was in amazing condition greens were near perfect and fairways cut to perfection. The course is a mature tree lined parkland course with little rough so wayward shots not totally punished by lost balls, but a good or sideways shot needed to get you back in play.

A beautiful course

A lovely place to play in the Brecon Beacons. Hilly and challenging in places with beautiful views if the golf goes wrong! Lovely tee boxes, great fairways and greens that will test you. A must try!

Lovely

Fantastic greens, not overly quick, just true and just. Fantastically manicured. We come to this place every year and it never dissapoints, even with a challenging summer weather wise. Really enjoyed the round, this time. Course is in fantastic condition.

The course at Cradoc is fantastically well kept, and our whole visit was enhanced by a very friendly pro, staff and members. The course played extremely well, even after some heavy downpours, with only one green holding some surface water. Definitely a "must play" course for anyone visiting the area(Round played: Oct 2016 - Score: 97 Handicap: 20.7)
