What the club says: Founded in 1906 originally as a 9 hole course, Cowglen is a challenging parkland course with many holes requiring an accurate tee shot to allow the correct approach to its well guarded greens. The course was re-constructed in 1923 under the guidelines of James Braid to 18 holes.

Located on the Barrhead Road between Pollokshaws Toll and Silverburn Shopping Centre, the clubhouse offers bar and catering facilities to a high standard. The club enjoys good views over the Clyde Valley and the Campsie Hills.

Good layout

The course is a really interesting layout, with views from certain tees being very good. Although not a long course, it has protection with any wayward tee shots being punished with trees and semi-rough. The fairways had a good layer of grass, the greens had recently been slit which meant they were bumpy, however they were still fairy fast. The prevailing wind makes certain holes tough. The members were all very friendly.

Cowglen

Disappointed with the condition of the course. The grass on the fairways was long as was the grass on the greens. I won't be rushing back to play it.

(Member at this club) proud to be a member here, greens were fantastic this evening, fairways running fast but the rough is up at the moment to even it out. Best practice facilities in Glasgow.

Course was ok. Not a course i would become a member as seems a lot of walking between the holes to the next tees.

Enjoyable layout with a variety of shapes, lengths and elevations of hole.Similar to other courses in the region with long rough ready to trap (and lose) anything off line.
