What the club says: Abercromby seemed to know instinctively what made a good golf course and he used the natural contours of Coombe Hill to create 18 challenging but attractive holes. Depending on how you are playing the course, Abercromby is either a gifted genius or a heartless sadist.

Exclusive and secluded course, most testing greens ever!
Coombe Hill is a private members club and it's like Fort Knox getting in and out. But once you make it across the threshold you are faced with an old-style test of guile and touch. A really interesting layout with a great mix of short and long par 4s, reachable par 5s and a great collection of par 3 holes. Strategy is needed off the tee but there is enough room to get the driver out if you want. The green complexes are the real defence. There is barely a flat putt on the course and with fairly quick greens, putting was a real challenge. Make sure you spend plenty of time on the putting green before you play. Not conditioned as well as I would have expected for a course of this standing however but then there had been little rain for the previous 2 months.Reviewer Rating

Excellent course, Tough
Greens are fast and not a flat spot on them very difficult for a 24 handicapper(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 126 Handicap: 23.7)

Hidden gem indeed
Very nice but very challenging course; the greens are large, fast and have some very severe slopes that make putting a much greater challenge than it is elsewhere.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 97 Handicap: 25)
