What the club says: Set in 120 acres of Northamptonshire’s finest upland countryside and accessible by many major routes, Cold Ashby provides the perfectly located, central venue for the casual golfer or the biggest golf days.
In January 2020 the business changed hands and is now managed by it's members, for it's members.
We do welcome visitors to our business, with only restrictions on tee times during weekend mornings and we are keen to expand on our conference and events business.

Tight & Hilly
A well hidden course that's not overly long but that compensates for that with blind tee shots, narrow fairways and some steep inclines. Greens weren't in great condition for the time of year and the signage around the course is a bit lacking, so knowing where you're going if it's your first round is tricky. But overall an enjoyable course with friendly staff and well worth playing.Reviewer Rating

An ideal course to visit.
A course offering a great variety of holes in quiet a hilly setting. Set in open countryside with some stunning views. Staff have always been friendly. In very windy conditions it could be really challenging.Reviewer Rating

Society Day
Played in a society Day and found this to be one of the worst courses I have ever played.Fairways and tee areas acceptable however greens were absolutely diabolical. Covered in bare patches and bobbles. Would not return

The Ash.D
A poor golf course, built on a piece of land unsuitable for purpose. Significantly worse than courses within its local area. The course is built into steep hillsides with clay soil which makes for poor drainage and greens that are far too soft. The course does have some good holes, particularly 3, 7, 8 and 18, which take advantage of sweeping natural elevations up and down but with generous landing areas.
Many holes however feature poorly defined hazards, blind landing areas, and at only 6000 yards off the back tees the course is hemmed in to an unsuitably small site.
Cant fault the welcome which is very friendly. Driving range is adequate for warming up. Facilities compared to similar type value courses are very basic and far from modern.
Overstone Park a better pay and play course and if looking for a top quality visit, Northamptonshire County GC should be where to go.

A hidden gem
Well worth the drive to find this hidden gem. Yes there are a few hills, but the views more than compensate for this as do a number of the holes. Although clay based the course has stood up well to recent rain and there was work being done both on the greens but also on the course which is a good sign. Friendly clubhouse with proper golf course grub. Will be back !Reviewer Rating

Need mountain boots
If you are of an age (like our group) you might want to consider a buggy. This is a very hilly course with some long steepish slopes. Having said that it is in good condition with excellent greens which were a little slow. There are some interesting but challenging holes with ditches that seem to spring out of nowhere especially on the 18th. Clubhouse very friendly and food was good tooReviewer Rating
