What the club says: Sitting more than 650 feet above sea level and offering panoramic views over Glasgow to the Campsies and the Arran Hills to the west, the course more than lives up to its majestic location.
Founded in 1888 and later redesigned by the acclaimed James Braid, it is the oldest golf course in Glasgow. The 6209-yard, par 71, moorland course is, despite its name, relatively flat but there are some tricky tree-lined holes, such as the par-3 fifth where you must overcome a loch to reach the well-protected green. Despite the name ("Braes" means "Hills" in Scotland), it is relatively flat.

Excellent course in prime condition. Fast and consistent greens, tees in great order for this time of year. There are many great holes and no bad ones. All staff in club and pro shop were very helpful and friendly.Would not hesitate to recommend to others looking for course to play.
Hopefully return in the future.

Never fails to impress
Work going on on the course by the green keepers as you would expect at this time of year but course played really well even with all the rain fall in recent days. The full greens that were on were true and fast temporary green could have been repaired better prior to winter play.Reviewer Rating

Hidden gem
I am a high handicapper, but I've played quite a few courses around central Scotland. This is one of the best I've played.Beautiful tree lined course, with some elevation.
Beautifully presented, fairways very good, greens very good.
A good challenge, some nice feature holes.
Had a great day, Can't wait to play again!
