What the club says: Located at nearby Biddenham since 1896, the Club moved to a new purpose built complex at Stagsden in 2000
The 18 Hole Championship Course provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. It was designed by Cameron Sinclair, who is famous for designing exciting golf courses which make the most of the natural terrain. Created in the 1990's when the club moved from its home of 100 years nearby, the course has matured amazingly well. The course benefits from indigenous woodland along its full length of one side and within its central area. In addition it boasts many beautiful oak trees dotted around the landscape.
The Par 3 'Academy' Course makes a challenging but fun short course for golfers of all levels. For the more experienced player it is ideal for practicing your short game, whilst for inexperienced golfers it can help build the self confidence needed to take on the main course. There are eight Par 3 holes and one Par 4 hole to finish.

Well worth a visit
The course has improved considerably since I last played it over a decade ago. The planted trees are looking much more part of the course rather than looking like additions. The course has become renowned for it's difficulty when the wind blows, as it did today for the County Senior Championships, which were played from the new back tees (Black, which were the old white tees). The course itslef looked very good, and the greens, tees and fairways were in perfect condition, as would be expected the day after the Club Championships weekend! The bunkers do seem to let the course down, as they have very heavy course orange sand in them, and so are more difficult to play out of than they should be. The two I visited were also of very differing depth/quality.
We were fed as part of our package, and the food was very good. Because it was such a hot day, the catering staff cleverly only brought food out as players came of the course, so it was kept fresh. Staff were all very polite and friendly.
I'm happy to say I'd play again, and hopefully I won't leave it for another decade before that happens.

So well kept
A brilliant short course with some decent challenges requiring accurate iron play. The greens are undulating and very well kept.Reviewer Rating

You've got to play the Bedfordshire
The clubhouse staff were very welcoming, the drinks and food were great value for money, the pro shop was well stocked and the staff helpful and the course was challenging and we'll kept. What more could you ask. I played one of the rounds of my golfing year too!Reviewer Rating

Good but could be great
A great layout with some brilliantly designed holes and far reaching views. The greens, fairways and tee boxes are very well maintained and the clubhouse and practice facilities are excellent! The course is unfortunately badly let down by the bunkers which are poor. The sand is brown/coarse and depth varies hugely between bunkers. A lot of bunkers are not ‘edged’ and some bunker walls are collapsing. I really hope the club will allocate funds for an extensive programme of works to renovate and improve bunkers. Only then will it be able to complete with the likes of John o gaunt and Dunstable downs.Reviewer Rating

Excellent Challenge
Great course with plenty of challenges- course management is key. Lots of sloping lies. Greens are in great shape, fast and true. Some long par 4s. Wind speed and direction will affect how you play the course.Hit good shots and you will be rewarded- but bad tee shots won't kill your round either as the course is fairly open and the rough not overly penal.
Thoroughly recommend if you're in the area. Be aware, it is quite a busy course so you will need to book in advance!

Played 2 Rounds Early Oct 20
Despite wet weather during the week the course was in fantastic condition. Greens pretty quick but true..pretty hard to read but not ridiculous. Fairways perfect. Used to play off 18 but coming back after a few years break.. if you are similar 100 is a good round. It looks easier than it is course management is crucial.Reviewer Rating
