What the club says: Auchmill Golf Course is situated in the Northfield/Bucksburn area of Aberdeen and was set out originally as a 9-hole golf course run by the Council. It was officially opened for play in 1975, having been designed by Brian Hugget, Ryder Cup player Neil Coles and Golf architect Roger Dyer, and was first and foremost an amenity used by both locals and local clubs.
The course was extended to 18 holes in 1989 and due to its popularity Auchmill Golf Club came into existence, with membership rising to around 400.

Nice course
The course was nice but not having played there before we found that the signage telling you where the next tee was lacking. The man at the starters box was not friendly at all. All we got was have you booked right on you go.Reviewer Rating

Decidedly average
Front 5/6 fairways overgrown with daisies. Course needs a fair amount of TLC upkeep wise.Setting is actually rather nice for being a city course.

Changed Days
When you ask people if they have played at this course, the vast majority of people will come away with some pre 1980's story about kids scrambling with motorbikes and stealing balls. But yet here we are in the 21st century and still we have people passing judgement on a course they played 5, 10 and even 15 years ago. Yes the course may have had its problems but with the employment of an enthusiastic Greenkeeping Team, the somewhat neglected course is starting to take shape. There are in fact some really nice holes and some of really challenging ones. It is not by any means an easy course. Great rates for single rounds and very reasonable membership rates. To anyone who may have left a negative review in the past, please give the course another bash (when it is back on summer greens) I promise you will see a vast difference.Reviewer Rating

Round 1
First round of the year, bit hit and miss, no pun intended! Course was in OKAY condition, greens need a lot of work, but overall not in too bad shape considering the situation with the shutdown.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 100 Handicap: 20.1)
