What the club says: Ardeer Golf Club is an exceptionally pleasant, rolling and well-appointed parkland course with hundreds of small, blossoming trees routed along the fairways and a babbling burn crossing in front of the greens. In playing the course, it is a lot more demanding than it appears. The 9th and 11th greens have recently been improved and are both exceptional holes playing across the "babblin" burn. The 9th is easily reachable from your second shot but the 11th at stroke index 1, is best approached from a lay-up.

Ardeer remains the worst experience we have had, bar none.
The golf course itself was uninspiring and in poor heavy condition.
The worst aspect was the treatment we received from the members and starter. We had booked 4 x 4 tee times, Saturday afternoon.
We received a "whatever, off you go" welcome form the person manning the starters desk. When our first group was on the 3rd hole they were approached by a member, to be told that 4 balls were not allowed on a Saturday afternoon. The starter the chased us all down and told us we'd have to split into 4 x 3 and 2 x 2. This wrecked the vibe , as well as the weekend long format that we had carefully planned.
Will never be back.

Don?t waste your money
The layout of the first 9?is great with a good mix of holes however the same can't be said about the back 9, pretty much apart from 2 holes on this 9 is up and down hill side by side and very repetitive. The general condition of the course is severely lacking attention to detail and pride taken in it, cut grass on the fairways and the rough and very hairy slow greens. The tee boxes had been cut that day and the green keepers hadn't bothered to replace many of the tee poles and markers.
The course was wet albeit 4/5 days after heavy rain but should be drying out quicker.
In summary don't waste your money loads of better courses in the area for the same price or cheaper.

Very testing course lot of blind shots
Course was water logged, no mention of mats until we arrived. If we hadn’t had a chat with the starter you could easily go wrong. Played using a bunkered freebie so didn’t lose anything. Would like to play in good dry conditions. Due wetness to many shots plugged.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 92 Handicap: 24.2)

Ardeer played 02/09/18
We were made very welcome at Ardeer golf club in the starters hut as the main building had yet to open. When in the main building we had tea or coffee and a roll on bacon or sausage which was very good. The nets were a good facility but the practice putting area was poor with only two pins in place and a bobbly surface. The buggies all worked fine and were welcomed on a quite hilly in places course. However the rough had been cut and the grass clippings left in place so that a ball in the semi-rough could be buried out of sight and take a while to find. The greens were in a really poor condition bobbly, patchy and not well maintained. 14 of us played the course and all had similar opinions. After the round, we had a meal in the clubhouse which was excellent which leads me to say the place would be far better as a restaurant than as a golf course. All staff in the clubhouse were polite and helpful, To end we were offered for a price of ten pounds to buy our tickets back before our round started this would have let us play the course again at a later date for just a tenner. We declined and just as well as a refund would have been asked for.Reviewer Rating
