Unfriendly Staff
I travelled 2 hours to meet up with friends to play this course. The course has to be in my top 3 of courses. I was unable to pick any fault with it. This course offers challenges around every corner and the condition of the greens and fairways are second to none. Well done to the course team.\However on a negative note it’s a shame that the clubhouse isn’t up to the same standard. I found the staff to be curt and couldn’t understand why they won’t accept cash payments when I couldn’t see anything on the website or actually in the clubhouse. I arrived with birthday money but had to ask my friends to pay for my drinks and food.Reviewer Rating

As senior citizen was surprised to be charged £16 for 9 holes and being signed in by a member!many of the paths leading to the next holes are dangerous, and was shocked the bunker next to the 8th hole was full of soil with no sand!Reviewer Rating

Too many 2 balls at weekends #SlowPlay
Sadly an improving course and greens in great condition. BUT no starter or marshall to guide people around the course. Weekend rounds 5hrs! being a member you play in four balls so pace of play is horrendous, knee high rough for the pay as you play clients. Range balls in a poor state. Chipping green great tho. Good luckReviewer Rating

Hidden Gem
Ansty was in great condition fairway dry greens fast but true. This is the first visit in four year. The new owners have undertaken a lot of work on the course to improvements. The club house is the next area to be improved and upgraded.Reviewer Rating

And £30 for a buggy as course pathways very wet with massive puddles
The greens were In very good condition but tee boxes very poor but obviously winter tees so expect that but as for the 14th hole which I nearly broke my ankle on its a temporary platform which is very worn out and on such a slant its a joke
The club house and facilities very dated
I feel that for the price it was not up to scratch winter conditions but summer prices far better courses for the money

Makes snails look fast
We had a 12:30 tee time on what was a dry, sunny if a little windy sunny afternoon, when we arrived there was one 4 ball on the first tee who seemed keen to wait for the 4 ball in front to finish the hole before teeing off, this should of been a clue of what was to come. Next was a 3 ball in the tee time before us, these again were keen on waiting for the group in front to be finishing up before teeing off. It took us 40 minutes to play the first hole and have our tee shot on the 2nd which is frankly outrageously slow, we are a group of 3 with handicaps from 16-19 so not brilliant ourselves but this was incredibly slow and extremely painful to spend more time standing around than actually playing the game of golf. At this point we had a chat with the friendly drinks cart staff member and she spoke with the society 3 & 4 groups ahead and with the group 2 groups ahead. Play didn't dramatically speed up if it all. Sadly by the end of the 16th it was 5:15 and 4hrs 45 for 16holes was just too much to take with 2 groups stood waiting on 17th tee we walked off. In the bar another group behind us had walked off and had only played 14 holes having skipped out 12 & 13 and knowing it would be dark before they finished.Course itself is much improved from a few years ago, especially the drainage. Greens all in a good condition bar 15 but that's due to how water does collect around there. Staff were friendly and appreciate the efforts they did make to speed things up on the front 9.
Last 2 times now I have played here play has been very slow, I would suggest spacing tee times further apart and having somebody marshalling people round better with regular check ins around the course, though it is a cost, it would certainly be better than losing custom to slow play. Equally a lot of the responsibility should be on players to know what's acceptable and what's not, equally understanding how far they hit the ball, rather than waiting for someone 300 yards away to move when you repeatedly only hit the ball sub 100 yards would be advantageous to pace of play.

Unloved
Played a social round with work colleagues. On arrival the first thing that i noticed was how run down the clubhouse is. Old honours boards and piles of worn out clubs dumped in the corner.
As i arrived early, i expected at least to be able to purchase a hot bacon bap...only to be told nothing avalilable. The manager was sitting with a laptop with his feet up on the bench seat.
The course is under ownership from a charity, bought a few years back. I know Rome wasnt built in a day but the basics cost little. The driving range that is due for a rebuild didn't even have a rubber tee for diver in any bay. The course its self was average with decent greens. The long walk between tee boxes was confusing as the signage was sparce. Reduce the amount of buggies & invest in things like the wooden tee markers that were all faded. I think major money is needed to bring some love too this place. Would not rush back.
