Average course
Very average course, fairways ok, building sand in bunkers and tine rakes to try and rake them, lovely greens, decent pro shop, clubhouse bar not open when we finished playing, don't want to drink in stuffy hotel bar.Reviewer Rating

Not quite there yet.
I’ve now played the course twice to give a fair assessment of it. There’s no disputing that there has been a lot of money spent on the remodelling of this course. It’s got some really great holes, there’s plenty of water to keep you busy and it will test you at times. but in reality, it is let down by having 7 Par 3’s, so it won’t attract a great deal of good medium/low handicap golfers! Tees were in good condition, as were the fairways. But the Greens, which were very big and very undulating, were full of non repaired Pitch Marks. I’ve heard that more land has been purchased and a new Par 4 and a Par 5 will be built. Plus a Par 3 will be turned into a Par 4. But this won’t happen until 2 years!! That’s why I think that the course is not there yet! I will visit it again when all the additional works have been completed, but I won’t be returning until then.Reviewer Rating

Ok Course
It is difficult to give a fair review of the course difficulty as the extreme dry weather must play a huge part in its current playability. The course is short, made shorter on the day due to the very dry ground conditions. I am an average hitter but was able to reach two down hill par 4's (230 & 290 yards) with a hybrid. Two of the par 5's (430 & 500 yards) were driver 56 wedge. The latter drive down a steep hill was over 400 yards!!
Due to the conditions a couple of other par 4's were probably drivable had I had experience of the course before. A number of blind shots reveal surprising hole set ups.
The greens offer some protection to the short nature of the course having many steep contours, if I was ultra crictical I would say they are slow which makes some of the steep contours deceiving as puts still require a good hit
If I am back in the area again, in damper conditions and have a few hours spare I would probably give it another go. I wouldn't honestly seek the course out again otherwise

We played as part of a Sunday driver deal that is now linked to the Hilton hotel,a fantastic background to the opening holes.
I believe that this course will really come on over the next couple of seasons to focal many neighbouring courses in Hampshire.
I look forward to playing again next year!

A great mix of modern meets traditional holes and comfortable in length to suit any golfer.
I doubt there is any relevance in reading previous reviews as this course cannot bear any resemblance to the old layout.
Great staff and off course facilities complete what will be England's best new course in recent years!

The course is undergoing development - there is a a temporary road right across the middle of it with heavy plant passing through every couple of minutes. There are only 9 'greens'. Only three holes were complete with a proper tee, green and fairway without lorries crossing it. The first green still had the witness from where the turf had been laid - 3 others were temporary greens. One fairway had large bare areas where turf had been lifted. There are supposedly 2 tees for each green making it an 18 hole course. Most were immediately adjacent to each other and some were just the same mat. It is just dishonest marketing this as an 18 hole course
Signage is appaling. No map on the card. No flag numbering. I expected, as a minimum, two holes on each green as they claimed 18 holes - no chance.
I would say that the three holes that were complete were of a good standard. If the remainder of development is to the same standard then it will be worth a visit...but at present it is a disgrace that it is open and they are expecting people to pay for this. Little wonder they are marketing via Groupon.
I would suggest avoiding this place until it is finished.

The greens are a challenge in its self , very undulating and not many at all just flat ones, so this will try anybodies putting game.
The course is undergoing some major work at this present time to make it into a Championship 18 hole course with loads of water build into it.they are totally redesigning the course, so hopefully it will be up there with the rest off them. i have heard it will take 12-18 months.
Clubhouse and staff are great & and welcoming other members.
hope this helps

I am biased, this is my club, the work is starting to upgrade the course to an eighteen, and I cannot wait to see the end result. Sharing groundstaff with the Rose Bowl cricket means the whole course is absolutely superb. This course will test your abilities at any handicap. The drag up the 4th and 6th fairways will help your fitness levels and the 16th will test your judgement. The staff are all brilliant, friendly, helpful, fun, the catering is o.k. no fault of the staff but a new 19th hole will be good. Watch out for deer, buzzards, kestrels, green woodpeckers, considering the course is enclosed by the M27 and main roads the wildlife is amazing.Visit soon and then come back when it's an eighteen.

Nine hole golf course with two tees per hole, so can be repetitive. Just about to undergo major alterations, pending planning permission, to create a further nine holes.Reviewer Rating
