Good Course
Played after a lot of heavy rain the course played really well if lacking the run on the fairways, naturally. The greens were in really good condition. Only two of the fairways were very soft and wet but definitely playable. Lovely setting and the food in the clubhouse was excellent. Had a deal for a round of golf coffee and sausage baguette for £30 great winter valueReviewer Rating

A great place for a golf break
The three nine hole courses provide different challenges and strategically placed hazards mean that you have to think your way around.Staying on-site helped make the break even more enjoyable

One of the most enjoyable courses to play in Dorset
I have played the Dorset G&CC a number of times but not for many years. The main course (Lakeland and Parkland nines)is one of the most enjoyable layouts you will come across. Such a great variety of holes with great use of water (lakes and streams). It's designed by Martin Hawtree so this is to be expected. The greens were excellent, pretty quick and pure, and the fairways were also in great shape. However tees were a bit bare, although this didn't affect how they played. The bunkers were a bit of an issue with many having large puddles in them even though it hadn't rained in a fair few days. But this didn't detract from the enjoyment of the course. It is great value for money and with a bit more TLC it would be one of the best courses in the county.Reviewer Rating

Always Open
One of only a few courses open in all this wet weather. Considering all the rain this course has three loops of nine and can spread players out. The Woodland nine was the least wet and muddy of the 3 nines. All nines were on main tees and greens but a lot of the fairways were extremely wet and very muddy in certain areas but overall playable, just.Reviewer Rating

Course overall was in very good condition considering a weeks worth of rain with excellent pace on the greens. There was a notice saying all bunkers out of play due to the rainfall and having lost a ball in one you can understand why

Lovely Setting
Course was in good order considering the rain we have had. Greens ran well and quite quick, fairways and tees in good shape. Bunkers were still holding a lot of water and one or two like mini swimming pools. Great location different loops of nine giving a great test for all handicapsReviewer Rating
