Feature Review Camberly Heath Golf Club
Review by Golfshake Member James Button (6 Handicap)
The course is a great location, easy to find from the M3, it's a heathland course framed with tall pine trees. Camberley Heath Golf Club is celebrated it's Centenary year in 2013. From the moment you drive up the hill to the impressive clubhouse you feel very welcomed.
Pre round thoughts
The club is very welcoming to visiting golfers and pro shop well stocked. We had a breakfast in the bar before the round which was very tasty and the bar men were very friendly
Par 3's
The second hole is a uphill par 3 which features a very challenging green, hit the wrong tier at your peril.
Par 4's
The 1st hole is a great welcome to the course, you will need the shape the ball left to right. On the 4th hole you need to be careful of the dangers lurking on the left hand side!
Par 5's
The third hole, the longest on the course is a challenging par 5 that will reward a tactical approach; it completes a great start to the course before crossing the road under the clubs private tunnel.
Signature holes
Stunning scenery and interesting wildlife is a theme that every golfer will enjoy during their round. With every hole offering a very different challenge to the last, creativity and accuracy will reward the golfing purist.
Post Round thoughts
Very enjoyable around, you don't feel like a visitor when you arrive as there's nothing too much trouble for the staff. The course is challenging in a lovely spot of Surrey heathland. I played the course in September, after the summer we've had it's in great conditions, the greens play very fast. The course has certainly improved over the years
James's Rating 9/10
