Callaway XR 16

Callaway XR16

One common factor through Callaway’s XR 16 range is promoting more speed and distance and they have been successful in doing so with the new XR 16 fairway wood.

The head shape has been increased in order to enlarge MOI as well as allowing the CG to be moved lower and deeper for distance and forgiveness on those off centre hits. It’s cambered sole makes Callaway’s lightest crown yet. The King F6 is the first fairway wood that offers front and back CG adjustability settings. The front CG position gives a more penetrating ball flight with more roll and the back CG position offers a towering ball flight with more control. The speed channel, which is an exclusive Cobra innovation, minimises thickness around the perimeter of the face and increases ball speeds across the face for greater distance. The F6 fairways also come with adjustable loft settings to help manage trajectory and fine tune launch conditions to maximise distance on any course.

Mizuno JPX EZ

Recognisable by their larger, confidence inspiring footprint, the brand new Mizuno JPX EZ fairway offers the ability to produce a higher and softer landing ball flight with optimal distance through a whole host of new technology.

The inventive Shockwave Soles offers increased ball speeds as it enables the entire clubhead to contract and expand, offering an additional energy source on impact. This is also relates to higher ball speeds when you hit it off the turf as the additional mass lowers the club head’s centre of gravity. The larger footprint also inspires confidence and the crown has been reinforced with a waffle affect that moves weight lower in the head for a softer ball flight.

The FlexLoft Fairway hosel offers golfers the unique ability to adjust the loft and lie angle independently with six different settings available in all five of the models. The new HyperFlight face is thinned out around the perimeter of the face to offer more forgiveness and distance on them off-center hits and the Compression Channel enables a springboard effect to amplify the performance of those miss-hits. The Front Track System has two 15g tungsten weights that can be easily moved to promote a draw or a fade. You can also separate the two weights which ultimately offers greater forgiveness with ball speed on miss-hits.
