Notts Golf Club suffers significant motorbike-induced damage.
It has become a reccurring issue for clubs in the UK, with senseless vandals showing little compassion or consideration for local courses in their community. This past weekend, Notts Golf Club - often known as Hollinwell - suffered on-course vandalism at the hands of bikers, causing significant damage to one of their greens.
The incident occurred in the early afternoon on Sunday, the 3rd of January, with club captain Stewart England explaining to the Nottingham Post: "It's simply dreadful. It has taken us years and years and years to get the course to where it is now."
He added: "It will cost thousands to repair and that's money we are going to have to find. The unfortunate thing is, grass doesn't grow in winter so we will start repairs now but it won't be back to normal until the summer."
