World of Golf Install Protractor Technology

By: Golf Shake | Wed 13 May 2015

The World of Golf driving in New Malden, South-West London, has exclusively installed new Protracer technology in 20 bays offering golfer’s real-time feedback and ball flight tracking on their shots.

Protracer, which is exclusive to World of Golf was originally designed by Swedish scientists to enhance the viewing for TV audiences watching golf by tracking the flight path of golf shots, the yardage and the distance the ball ends from the target.
Using the brand new tablet devices set-up especially for Protracer, players at World of Golf can use the range feature to calculate the distance of every club in the bag or play a points game to play against friends.

Grant Wright, CEO at World of Golf says Protracer adds another dimension to London’s busiest driving range: “We’ve seen here to today what a buzz Protracer has caused, everyone enjoyed playing the game and it allows golfers to compete against each other on the range in a fun competitive environment.

“We have ‘The Protracer Beat The Pro Challenge’ ongoing from today and there will also be daily, weekly and monthly prizes up for grabs. The new technology of Protracer will encourage golfers of all ability from beginners to seasoned pros to come down and try it,” he added.

The news of Protracer comes after World of Golf had the busiest Easter week on record with a third of a million balls hit over the holiday period, following on from the 14 million balls hit in 2014 confirming its status as Europe’s busiest driving range.
