
Awards Night to celebrate Northumberland Golfers efforts to grow the game
Volunteers in Northumberland are to be honoured for their efforts in helping grow the game of golf.
Nominations are now open for the first Northumberland County Golf Partnership’s awards night in recognition of the many hours of work that go in to supporting the drive to help clubs in the county recruit and retain new golfers.
Entries can be submitted in seven categories: Young Volunteer of the Year (under 18); Young Volunteer of the Year (18-25); Golf Volunteer Coach of the Year; Club development Volunteer of the Year; County Development Volunteer of the Year; Services to golf/Lifetime Achievement (male); and Services to golf/Lifetime Achievement (female).

Awards will also be made to the GolfMark Club of the Year; the Get into golf recruitment project of the year; the Get into golf centre of the year; and the Golf Roots centre/project of the year.
The Northumberland CGP Forum and Annual Volunteer Awards will be held on Thursday March 27 at the Lee Westwood Suite at Close House Golf Club (7pm).
Explains Ian Harvey, county development officer for the Northumberland CGP: “The new awards recognise and celebrate outstanding contribution to the development of golf at both club and county level.”
