Harrington and Lawrie launch new Wilson Staff range

The FG Tour M3 range of clubs has been designed for golfers looking to move their game  to another level.  To help the accomplish this the new range features the latest lightweight technology and customisation to match individual swing characteristics.  Feedback from the most experienced Tour players has been a significant factor in the club development - especially in the M3 irons.

 

“The Tour players were instrumental in helping us dial in the look, feel, trajectory and specs for the clubs,” said Michael Vrska, Wilson Golf’s Global Director for R&D. “They provide invaluable feedback that we can’t get from either robot testing or testing with amateur players, both of which we do a lot of.

 

“As more Tour players switch to lighter equipment, Wilson Staff R&D has shown that virtually all players from low handicappers to Tour Staff, will increase both distance and control by using ‘The Right Light’ Technology and applied to this range it optimises head, shaft and grip weight to improve performance,” he added.

 

The  M3 irons are forged from carbon steel with a PVD finish and offer forgiveness matched with the workability of a forged players’ club.  The thin top line delivers a lower centre of gravity and exceptional feel, while the progressive cavity design optimised weight where it can most benefit the player. Near the impact area, the club is thinner in the long irons for increased ball speeds and distance, but thicker in the short irons for more precision shots.

 

The M3 driver, fairway woods and hybrids feature a Multi-Fit System™ to enable both loft and weight to be customised to maximise club head speed and gain more distance. Selecting the right launch angle and spin rate from six adjustable hosel settings and three interchangeable sole weights can increase club head and ball speeds

 

Three different weights - 3, 7 or 11 grams - can be fitted to each wood to provide the perfect balance and feel. They are contained in a pouch along with an adjustable wrench and instructional booklet.

 

The M3 driver – the first adjustable driver from Wilson Staff – features six separate loft settings from 8.5° to 11.5° in half degree increments, plus three performance-enhancing sole weight options. It has a Tour-preferred pear-shape 460cc head with a variable thickness face to increase ball speeds and a lighter, chemically-etched crown helps create a pleasing sound and ideal mass re-distribution.

 

The M3 fairway woods also have six loft settings and three sole weight options across three head variations in 13.5°, 15° & 17° standard lofts, with adjustability between 12.5° & 19°, while the M3 hybrids come in four standard lofts - 17°, 19°, 21° & 23° - with three loft settings for better turf interaction, trajectory and distance.

 

 

The FG Tour™ M3 range is available from October and RRPs are: irons (4-PW) £599 (steel) & £699 (graphite); driver £249; fairway woods £179; and hybrids £149.
