Stewart Golf Z3 Push Review

By: Golf Shake | Tue 16 Jul 2013

Stewart Golf Z3 Push TrolleyLong time electric trolley user and Golfshake member John Flood recently took the opportunity to test out the Stewart Golf Z3 Push golf trolley.

The Z3 was launched in 2012 after the initial release of the Z1 push trolley and both have received glowing reviews by the media and golfers alike with Z3 building on the success of the Z1 and offering a number of key enhancements including:

  • Press on / press off foot brake.
  • Accessory points on the handle (accessories including GPS holder & drinks cooler tube).
  • Redesigned rear wheel quick release mechanism.
  • Redesigned bag jaws to accommodate all sizes of golf bag.
  • Coloured 'touch points' for easier identification.
  • Colour range: liquid white, metallic blue, liquid black and matt black.

Review Z3 Push Golf Trolley

First impressions out of the box

When I took the Z3 out of the box my first impressions were how solid & compact all the parts felt. It didn't look cheap or feel plastic in anyway. I was really impressed with the packaging & the option to extend the warranty to 2 years for free.

Ease to set-up

The Stewart Golf Z3 is lightweight and easy to assemble and from start to finish it took under 3 minutes to set up straight from the box. This was made easy by having only 3 main parts which all slotted in easy using their quick release system. This will allow the trolley to be stored or transported in any of the smallest car boots!

Ease to use on the course

From getting it out of the boot it took 1 minute to set-up. This consisted of releasing 2 sections in turn & unfolding the trolley. Once erect it transforms into a thing of beauty. My cart bag fitted on with no problems & the top & bottom straps kept it held firm all day (so much so that when a gust of wind caught my umbrella & flipped the trolley over the bag never moved!).

Pushing it around the course was a breeze even with my bag loaded with multiple waterproofs & drinks. The brake is a handy feature as well which allows you to secure your trolley even on the steepest of hills.

Look, feel and use

With a quality build the trolley had my playing partners gathering around asking what make it was. The general consensus was that it looked the part & the styling was spot on. The large handle makes pushing it around the course easy allowing both hands if needed and it's a real breeze to use.

The drinks holder came in handy as well but not for holding drinks but rather my head covers!

I purchased the optional GPS holder & the large umbrella holder (the free one you get with it is not intended to be used whilst pushing the trolley) & they both attached to the trolley via the docking points with ease.

The GPS holder held my Skycaddie SGXw firmly. Even when going over rough terrain it never budged.

Compactness for getting in the car

The small & compact design not only for weight when using makes this a stand out feature when storing. My previous electric trolley when folded down dominated my boot space which meant I had to balance my golf bag on top. With the Z3 I was able to lie my golf bag flat & the Z3 slotted into the gap, without the need for removing any wheels.

Overall

Simple - never going back to an electric trolley!
