9 Outsiders to Watch at The 2025 Masters

Much attention will be placed on the big names like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, but don't be surprised if some outsiders make an appearance on the leaderboard at The Masters.

Here are several that Golfshake's Derek Clements is keeping an eye on.

Bernhard Langer

There will not be a dry eye in the (Clements) house when Langer makes his final walk up the 18th fairway. The two-time champion is a credit to the game and proof that you do not have to be a bomber.

Brian Campbell

Campbell is the shortest hitter on the PGA Tour but he is also one of the straightest. With a win under his belt, he has proved you don’t have to smash it 320 yards to succeed.

There are few better golf swings on the PGA Tour than that possessed by the Belgian. Having finally won he is now blessed with self-belief. Looking for a big week at Augusta.

Has surprised many with how well he has done on the PGA Tour. Incredibly consistent and possesses a will of iron. Now established at the highest level of the game.

Matthieu Pavon

Has struggled to maintain last year’s form, which saw him soar up the world rankings after his astonishing victory at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Rasmus Hojgaard

There is no doubt in my mind that Hojgaard has everything in his armour to win the biggest tournaments, but this Masters has probably come too early for him.

Nicolas Echavarria

The Columbian enjoyed a superb run of form at the end of 2024 and is most definitely in the field on merit. His attacking style may backfire at Augusta National.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout

I remain utterly bemused by Bezuidenhout’s failure to reach the upper echelons of the game because he has everything, and is one of the best putters in the game.

Lucas Glover

Do not write off Glover just because he is in his forties. He remains a terrific ball striker and has now found a way to putt. He is also fiercely competitive.
