Attayga Golf Customised Shaft Wraps & Grips Review
REVIEW: Attayga Golf Customised Shaft Wraps
Attayga Golf was established by Harry Butler, a former US Collegiate golfer based in the UK, who has sought to address a gap in the market having seen many other players painting their shafts to customise the club or reduce glare from the sun.
Customisation is a popular thing in golf these days, but it was lacking with regards to shafts. Harry spent the pandemic searching for the materials that would allow anyone to customise their clubs but with materials that wouldn't impact the performance characteristics of the club.
Now in the form of wraps that are made from a light material that doesn't impact performance but does help to protect your club shafts in a stylish fashion, Golfshake Ambassador Mel Davies has taken the opportunity to test the product for himself and he shares his thoughts in this review.
Technical Specs
- Air Release Vinyl & Easy Installation: The brand uses the best air release vinyl available, allowing a smooth installation process without creases or bubbles for a flawless finish.
- Performance: At just 0.08mm thick, the wraps add virtually no weight to your club. The vinyl is flexible and bends with the shaft ensuring that your swing remains natural and consistent.
- Protection For Your Club: The wraps act as a protective barrier, safeguarding your golf shaft from minor scratches and abrasions during play and transportation.
- Residue-Free Removal: When you decide to change things up, the wraps can be removed cleanly without leaving any residue on your club, preserving its original look.
- Size: Universal, one size fits all clubs.
Looks
I must say the wrap I was sent was a superb looking and once on the club it just looked like it belonged there. They do various colours and designs. Mine was the carbon fibre black wrap.
Feel
Felt top quality when I put it onto the shaft and I’ve had no issues since using it.
Performance
Doesn’t seem to affect the weight, feel and performance of the shaft one bit. No drop off in distance or change in shot shapes.
Pros
Look great, a great price. Much cheaper than changing shafts.
Cons
A little bit fiddly when putting on but that is probably more down to me to be honest.
The Bottom Line
If your golf shaft is showing wear and/or you want to make it look great again then these wraps are just the thing.
I was also lucky to be sent three different golf grips and I had them put on each of my wedges. Once more they look really nice and perform great too. Available in different feels and colours and at a fantastic price, Attayga Golf have really come up with some great products at very low prices.
