Nike Tiger Woods 2004 Driver vs 2024 Golf Driver
If you could directly compare a driver from 20 years ago against one of the leading models of 2024, how much will have changed in those two decades?
That's what Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall attempted to discover when he tested his old Nike Ignite Tiger Woods Limited Edition driver against the Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond that he uses and loves today.
The old Nike was a special edition design at 7.5 degrees featuring a titanium 410cc traditional head and is one inch shorter than his current 2024 driver, which boasts a 460cc head.
Naturally, you would think that the modern Callaway - benefitting from two full decades of technology advancement and innovation - will offer more distance, more forgiveness and better playability and dispersion, but just how dramatic are the differences between them?
Using Trackman at his Performance Centre at Howley Hall Golf Club in Leeds, Ryan put these two distinctive designs from different eras under the microscope, which you can watch below or directly on YouTube.
