GEL Golf - putter review

GEL Golf  launched a new range of Groove Putters called the GEL Paul Hurrion Signature Range at this years London Golf Show.

They have been designed by sports biomechanist Dr Paul Hurrion, who has worked with several of the top players on tour and in conjunction with GEL Golf, he has produced this new range. They  incorporate the innovative groove and insert technology that defined the original GEL Groove Putter Range, and scientific testing has proved that the use of groove technology in putters, gives them a truer roll, and creates an intstant roll, rather than skiding or skipping.

There are four models in this new range - The Sedo, Sedo II, Scindo and the Rego, all of which retail at £165.

I had the opportunity to try out the Rego.....

GEL's tagline is "believe in the roll" and I have to say I found myself saying it alot when I tried this putter out!! I have never made so many putts from 10 feet, it really is a case of lining it up and watching it drop!
All the putters are fitted with WINN grips, which are amazingly comfortable, but the putter doesnt just feel good - it looks good too.

The putter face has a blue insert and that coupled with the blue grip, make it very easy on the eye and a must for the fashion concious golfer. The weight of the putter is just about what I look for in every putter, and I have never had so many good putts in one round. It forgives the off centre hits, due to an enlarged sweet spot and the groove technology exerts top spin on the ball, which means it starts rolling from the moment it leaves the club and consequently gives you a truer, straighter putt. The Rego also has a Three-line allignment system, that helps to square the club head up at address. I dont know what else to say about this putter, it looks good and it feels great and when I used it, I had more one putts than I ever have in a round before.

The Rego is a  putter that I would fully reccomend to anyone wanting to improve their touch on the green. It delivers exceptional feel, great feedback and creates immediate forward roll ensuring that the good putts are rewarded and the bad ones are not punished.

GEL Putters are distributed in the UK by Assay Golf which is based in London and can be found at www.GELGolf.co.uk .
