The Best Twilight Golf Green Fees in England
The arrival of the golf season means that the joyous opportunity to play during the evening has returned. It means that even if you're working during the week, you still have the chance to get multiple rounds in regularly. There is nothing better than finishing your day off by chasing the diminishing sunlight as nightfall approaches.
Yes, it's fair to say that we love twilight golf.
Beyond just the extra hours of daylight, playing later in the day also makes it possible to secure twilight green fees. As we all know, the cost to play the finest courses in these islands has generally skyrocketed in recent years, but later tee times can be less expensive to secure and they provide an appealing chance to tick off some of the finest layouts in the country.
We have brought together the best twilight golf green fees that you can find in England - which you should consider taking advantage of this season, whether you live in the nation or fancy travelling to visit from further afield!
Ganton Golf Club
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Golfshake Rating: 5.00
Twilight Green Fee: £120 After 4pm
Review Comment: "The friendliness in the clubhouse from the staff is second to none, and also members that were also there. Not to mention the magnificent history aorund the place, a visit to the clubhouse was amazing on its own. As for the course, the condition was fantastic, the layout fantastic, the challenge amazing, if at times too good for me. There is no way you cannot enjoy the whole experience at Ganton. I WILL be back."
Saunton Golf Club
Location: Braunton, Devon
Golfshake Rating: 4.91
Twilight Green Fee: £75 After 4pm
Review Comment: "I've played all the courses in both Devon and the Bournemouth region and the East Course is head and shoulders above the rest. It has a real mixture of lengths, angles to come into pins and also considering the rain we have had this past week, the drainage means there wasn't one boggy area. Beautiful landscape, stunning holes, just a gem of a course."
Burnham & Berrow Golf Club
Location: Burnham on Sea, Somerset
Golfshake Rating: 4.92
Twilight Green Fee: £90 After 3pm
Review Comment: "Unbelievable course in great conditions. Not for the faint-hearted but will walk off with a smile no matter what your score."
Liphook Golf Club
Location: Liphook, Hampshire
Golfshake Rating: 4.93
Twilight Green Fee: £110 After 4pm
Review Comment: "Absolutely fantastic course. Fast greens, lush fairways, plenty of heather to left and right, this is a pretty course and a decent test of golf, without being ridiculous. Will play here again."
West Hill Golf Club
Location: Woking, Surrey
Golfshake Rating: 4.91
Twilight Green Fee: £100 After 3pm
Review Comment: "A good challenge where everybody has a chance to do well. It was in very good condition with lightening fast greens. Good parking and well serviced clubhouse."
Aldeburgh Golf Club
Location: Aldeburgh, Suffolk
Golfshake Rating: 4.80
Twilight Green Fee: £95 After 3pm
Review Comment: "The course exceeded my expectations, found it a really great test of golf. The greens were true but not too quick, fairways in excellent condition, but it does play long when the wind gets up and although the fairways are generally forgiving enough for you to score well, a bad shot will be punished severely should you go into any of the gorse that lines most of the fairways. All in all it is a proper championship golf course and you will need to be on your game to score well. Will definitely return."
Ferndown Golf Club
Location: Ferndown, Dorset
Golfshake Rating: 4.90
Twilight Green Fee: £85 After 3:30pm
Review Comment: "A gem of a course. Ferndown is a proper golf club. Beautiful condition, great practice facilities and lovely food. It is challenging but fair and there is a chance to score well if your game is in good shape."
Ipswich Golf Club

Review Comment: "My favourite place to play golf in Suffolk. Superbly kept heathland course with some mouth-watering undulations."
Royal North Devon Golf Club
Location: Westward Ho, Devon
Golfshake Rating: 4.88
Twilight Green Fee: £50 After 4pm
Review Comment: "This is the oldest golf club in England and the course was designed by Old Tom Morris. It's a fantastic links course with some unusual holes - notably the 4th which features a fairway bunker with a 25ft wall. The course was in great condition with fast undulating greens. The clubhouse is very pleasant and features an array of golfing memorabilia which is well worth a close look. This is a must play course if you find yourself in the vicinity."
Wallasey Golf Club
Location: Wallasey, Merseyside
Golfshake Rating: 4.75
Twilight Green Fee: £120
Review Comment: "Course and greens especially in an amazing condition considering how much rain we have had this winter. You can really see the changes to pathways and run-off areas have bedded in and look fantastic. The flagsticks and tee markers are a very classy touch."
Hayling Golf Club
Location: Hayling Island, Hampshire
Golfshake Rating: 4.61
Twilight Green Fee: £50
Review Comment: "I thoroughly enjoyed this quirky links course. It was a great change of pace from my usual parkland courses. The greens were fantastic, and I loved the variety of holes and the difficulty level."
Seacroft Golf Club
Location: Skegness, Lincolnshire
Golfshake Rating: 4.13
Twilight Green Fee: £45 After 2:30pm
Review Comment: "Seacroft have invested heavily over the last five years to restore the course to its early beginnings. It's a true links course right next to the sea at Skegness with views out over the Wash. It's a course to be proud of and is a great opportunity for visitors to experience links golf, with all of its challenges at a very reasonable price."
Perranporth Golf Club
Location: Perranporth, Cornwall
Golfshake Rating: 4.52
Twilight Green Fee: £50
Review Comment: "Real test of your skills. As many have mentioned, it is a rough course, many blind shots, rolling fairways and fast beautifully kept greens make this a serious challenge of skill and patience. I will say if you can play well here, you can play well on any links course."
East Devon Golf Club

Golfshake Rating: 3.61
Twilight Green Fee: £40 After 4pm
Review Comment: "Great course with a mix of challenging and sporty holes. Superb views of the coast and countryside of Devon."
Seaton Carew Golf Club
Location: Hartlepool, County Durham
Golfshake Rating: 4.22
Twilight Green Fee: £55 After 3:30pm
Review Comment: "Played this course on a very windy day in October. Although there was some major work being done on the course impacting a few holes, it was still a great experience to play a quality golf course. The fairways were running well and the greens were magnificent. It is easy to see why the course is hosting the English Men's Amateur Championships in 2024."

Location: Fleet, Hampshire
Golfshake Rating: 4.11
Twilight Green Fee: £80 After 4pm
Review Comment: "I had an amazing time playing here. The course was in great condition and it was such a beautiful setting. It was a great challenge and I'm already looking forward to coming back."
Goswick Golf Club

Golfshake Rating: 4.70
Twilight Green Fee: £40 After 2pm

Piltdown Golf Club
Location: Uckfield, East Sussex
Golfshake Rating: 4.59
Twilight Green Fee: £75 After 1pm
Review Comment: "Not a long course, but great to look at, and very difficult if you can't keep it on the fairway, as the heather is very unforgiving. Fairways are good and the greens very smooth. No bunkers, but doesn't need them."
Crowborough Beacon Golf Club
Location: Crowborough, East Sussex
Golfshake Rating: 4.43
Twilight Green Fee: £60

Moor Park Golf Club
Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

Royal Worlington & Newmarket Golf Club
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
