TaylorMade MG4 Wedges Review
TaylorMade has recently unveiled their new MG4 wedges, which looks set to be a popular inclusion for golfers all around the world.
The brand is known for their high-quality products and the release of the MG4 wedges are no different.
Golfshake Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall, was given a selection to test out on the golf course and he provides his extensive opinion on the new clubs.
TaylorMade Milled Grind 4 - MG4 Wedges
MG4 stands for Milled Grind 4 and the clubs utilise laser etched Spin Tread and a raw face in a bid to enhance the bite around the greens whilst also boosting spin during wet conditions.
The shaping of the wedge has been refined to help create a smooth aesthetic, and the increased mass distribution results in a solid feel through impact.
Spin tread is responsible for removing moisture, in addition to retaining spin during adverse conditions.
Ultimately, Spin Tread redirects water at impact and creates more friction between the club face and ball to promote more spin in your shots.
The leading golfers across the world prefer raw wedges, which influenced TaylorMade’s decision to head down this route.
As a consequence of this, the unplated materials will rust over time to preserve spin properties, whilst continuing to deliver better performance during rainy conditions.
The milling process provides unbelievable consistency, which helps TaylorMade to create a precise crafted grind that results in perfect turf interaction and reliable performance.
Ryan Rastall was given three MG4 wedges in standard, high bounce and low bounce.
