PING Unveil New G430 LST 3-Wood
PING have released the G430 LST 3-wood to the public and through the advancement of technology, golfers can expect plenty of speed and high performance.
The 3-wood features a low-spinning, tour-style design that combines a 2041 Beta-Ti face, Ti 8-1-1 body, and an 80-gram tungsten sole plate to help reposition the CG lower and further back for electric ball speeds with limited spin – which will help to produce more distance. Innovations include Carbonfly Wrap, Ti-Facewrap and Spinsistency, with the latter being a popular patent for the manufacturer.
John K, Solheim, PING CEO & President, is delighted with the final product.
“We’re excited to bring this score-lowering technology to golfers during the heart of the golf season to give them a long and versatile 3-wood to help them lower their scores and raise their enjoyment on the course.
“The lightweight properties of titanium and the density of tungsten open a lot of possibilities to improve performance. The results are phenomenal.
“The G430 LST 3-wood goes forever and sounds amazing. It’s already in the bags of tour players around the world. We look forward to getting the new fairway wood in the hands of golfers who want the best of multi-material technology.”
Ti-Facewrap
The variable-thickness, high-strength titanium wraps into the crown and sole of the lightweight titanium body, which helps to produce more flexing for tremendous ball speed and higher launches, which results in improved distance.
The combination of the titanium body and high-density 80-gram tungsten sole plate will position the CG lower and further back to achieve these results.
Spinsistency
The low-profile, 169cc head is another beneficiary of Spinsistency, which is a proven clubface innovation that has been engineered with a variable roll radius to improve performance across the face – with an emphasis on shots hit low on the face. This is possible by reducing spin to generate more distance.
Carbonfly Wrap
The Low Spin Technology (LST) model joins the MAX and SFT designs in finalising the 3-wood range that were introduced earlier this year.
Similarly to those models, the LST 3-wood has been designed with a Carbonfly Wrap crown to help provide more distance by positioning the CG lower and closer to the force line.
This will help to maximise ball speeds, which results in both higher and longer carries – which will be exceptionally useful off the tee for those who struggle with driver.
The 8-layer composite crown helps to save 5.5 grams compared to a titanium crown and the weight savings will be relocated to achieve the lower CG and explosive increase in ball speed.
