Orida Park Wood Golf Club to Host PGA EuroPro Tour Event
Orida Park Wood Golf Club have announced that they will host a PGA EuroPro Tour event for the upcoming season. The club have also revealed that they will host a Pro-Am on the day prior to the main competition.
The tournament will take place over 3 days, with the official start date being Wednesday 21 July. The Pro-Am will see 150 amateur golfers paired with EuroPro touring professionals in what looks set to be a fantastic day for golfing fans in Kent.
What is the PGA EuroPro Tour?
The PGA EuroPro Tour is Europe’s leading development tour, offering avenues into higher standards of professional golf. They had previously stated that amateur golfers who hold a two or better handicap will also be eligible for competition.
Throughout the season, members of the EuroPro Tour will compete in an Order of Merit, where the top five golfers will gain access to the Challenge Tour – and become one step away from the European Tour.
The EuroPro Tour provides an excellent insight into life as a touring professional, and with a large proportion of its playing members of a younger age, it offers spectators of the sport the chance to see the stars of tomorrow.
Across the season, Sky Sports will broadcast highlights packages and you will be able to see every shot on either YouTube or Matchroom.live. The first event will take place on May 25 at Harleyford Golf Club.
Orida Park Wood Golf Club
Orida Park Wood Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole, par-72, 6,8365-yard golf course that is located in Westerham, Kent. Orida took over the golf club in 2014, with huge investment that has seen the rebuilding of the clubhouse and the golf course – making it into a viable EuroPro Tour venue.
Orida are also proud owners of Surrey Downs Golf Club and the Oakland Park Golf Club. As a result of investment, this will be the first EuroPro Tour event to take place in TN16 – and the event has already seen a fantastic reaction, with the Pro-Am selling out months prior to the day.
Additionally, the main event is open to the public and has been made free to attend, where you can enjoy refreshments around the clubhouse whilst watching young prospects earn their touring cards.
