FootJoy Fury Golf Shoe Review
REVIEW: FootJoy Fury Golf Shoe
Review by Golfshake Ambassador Andrew Picken
This year, FootJoy launched its new FJ FURY golf shoe, which has been designed to bring together an athletic style with a rich depth of technologies - including an internal fit system - to create a shoe that delivers comfort and performance. Golfshake's Andrew Picken has reviewed them for us.
I love FootJoy products since undertaking a full fitting at one of their performance centres. They are comfortable and allow daily use which is a requirement when I undertake regular reviews.
Looks
They look sporty, feel light but athletic, very easy to keep clean as well. The colour range of blue goes with most of my golfing clothing and is complimentary. They look and feel smart.
Feel
Due to problems following a snapped Achilles tendon I need to wear orthotic supports in my shoes. Walking five miles per round can put pressure on your feet if the shoes are not well fitted and comfortable. I am not saying that I am fussy, simply very careful having now realised that I came very close to having to finish playing the game I love due to planar fasciitis.
At the season's beginning I started to wear these shoes and they have become my shoes of choice from across all the brands that I have tried to date.
They are light, athletic, incredibly comfortable but give excellent grip and purchase when playing. They have a sporty look but yet still look and feel very smart around the course.
I particularly like the footbed system that cushions the sole of the foot but then cradles it above making it securely fixed into the shoe at all times during the swing.
Performance
I love them. They are practical look great and give excellent grip in all types of conditions including rain and hail.
Pros
The mesh looks like a training shoe and is very cool when playing in hot weather. I like the fact that they are not a traditional look of shoe.
Cons
They are only available in blue I would like to see a white or black version. no issues regarding comfort or wearability.
The Bottom Line
These are my current first choice shoe. I have access to many brands and manufacturers products but these remain my choice for this season. Enough Said!
