TaylorMade M5 Fairway Wood Review

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 31 Jan 2019

TaylorMade's new M5 fairway wood has seen the brand's Twist Face Technology integrated to deliver better performance, but crucially there has been a significant redesign into the head construction with a titanium body, 5-layer carbon composite crown with a steel movable weight to enhance adjustability.

Available at retail on February 15, 2019 at an RRP of £369 / EU, the M5 fairway will be offered in Rocket 3/14° (RH only), 3/15° and 5/18° lofts and come equipped with a Mitsubishi CK Tensei Orange 75 (X) and 65 (S, R) with numerous additional shaft options available at no additional cost. The stock grip is the MCC Decade grip from Golf Pride.

Golfshake's PGA Professional and Equipment Expert Ryan Rastall has tested the club, both at home in England, and during a recent visit to Florida, discovering how it performs and whether it's an improvement. Ryan was certainly impressed, saying: "Looking at the flight outside here, it's going the distance I would expect it to, it just feels great. The ball flight is how I'm used to seeing it, a nice high little draw, so it really does perform, I love it."

You can see Ryan's review of the M5 fairway wood and an assessment of the technology.
