Sergio Garcia Opens New Golf Hub at PGA Catalunya
PGA Catalunya Resort is among the most highly regarded venues in Spain, featuring a superb main course among many other striking facilities, including The Golf Hub, which is the new and upgraded golf academy that has brought together a variety of game improvement technologies and social gaming to provide a fun and enjoyable environment, and it was opened by former Masters champion and Ryder Cup legend Sergio Garcia.
The upgraded academy offers 10 covered bays integrated with Toptracer Range technology, which provides instant shot replays and statistical feedback on interactive game screens, while also featuring a range of games and modes suited for all ages and skill levels. Players can take on the world in a long-drive competition, play Closest to the Pin with their friends, dive into advanced analytics on their swing, and virtually tee it up at some of the world’s greatest courses.
The European Tour Destination is also the first venue in Spain to install GEARS Golf – a full swing club and body tracking system used by PGA pros, club fitters, and club manufacturers to measure and analyse every nuance of a swing – in its new fitting and performance studios, in addition to the latest version of Trackman.

Commenting on the new practice facility, Garcia said: “The Golf Hub creates an inclusive and fun learning environment. Players across the board, from beginner to level, will feel welcome, engaged and challenged in improving their game. It makes a superb addition to the resort.”
With the largest short game area in Europe (2000m2), featuring five different grasses and five different sand types, the 36-hole venue is already hailed as having some of the best practice facilities on the continent, and has proved a popular destination for national teams looking to train over the winter season and professionals wanting to fine-tune their game.
