Titleist Introduces New MB and CB Irons for Skills Golfers
Keeping with its serious clubs for serious golfer roots, Titleist introduces the new Titleist MB and Titleist CB forged irons featuring improved feel and looks. The MB is a classic muscle back forged iron, while the new Titleist CB is a full set of cavity-back forgings. Both models deliver the looks, feel and performance that highly-skilled players demand.
“Throughout our ongoing research in irons, it became very clear that there exists a community within the better player market that requires the simple design and traditional feel and responsiveness of a classic forged iron,” said Steve Pelisek, General Manager Titleist Golf Clubs. “The feedback we received from this competitive and better player audience is that they want a compact blade length, minimal offset iron with solid feel and shot workability. Based upon the overwhelming positive comments from Tour players, club pros and competitive amateurs alike, the new MB and CB irons will please even the most adamant traditional iron enthusiasts.”
“The new MB and CB have been enhanced with particular regard to weight distribution that produces solid feel,” explains Dan Stone, Vice President Research and Development, Titleist Golf Clubs. “We have created a uniform muscle shape in the new MB and optimized cavity muscle in the new CB that provide more mass behind the impact area to achieve the quintessential ‘soft, solid feel’. This weighting also produces consistent launch angle, backspin and ball speed in order to provide precise distance and shot control demanded by better players. The new full cavity CB set provides increased inertia and forgiveness versus the MB."
The new Titleist MB irons have already been put into play in recent weeks by several players on tour including Adam Scott and Davis Love III.
The MB and CB irons are available in both right and left hand beginning November 1 2009. Suggested retail price for MB and CB is £102 per club, with both sets being 8-club sets (3-PW) as standard.
