Was Rory Wrong to Play with Trump?
Controversial U.S. President Donald Trump has recently played golf with both Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, but there was a particular shock across the community when it was revealed that the 70-year-old had enjoyed 18-holes with four-time major champion Rory McIlroy.
The Northern Irishman - who has been nursing a stress fracture to a rib since last month - is expected to return competitively at the upcoming World Golf Championship in Mexico, so there was tangible surprise when the 27-year-old revealed to popular website and social media group 'No Laying Up' that he had participated in a four-ball with the President, Nick Mullen of International Sports Management, and Rich Levine, on Trump International in Florida at the weekend.

Considering the President's divisive nature and policies, which have been widely condemned throughout the planet, many were disappointed in McIlroy for accepting the invitation to play with the businessman turned populist politician.
Former golf correspondent of The Guardian, Lawrence Donegan was clear in his view of the incident.
Pitiful. @McIlroyRory can spend his free time how he wants. And you and I can ask, why is he normalising this lying, racist scumbag? https://t.co/DKDb4Fa60N

Was the former world number one misguided in playing golf with Trump, or was he right to embrace the opportunity to play with an American President, which has been a regular event throughout time, with many residents of the White House being fervent lovers of the game?
