Bag boy Revolver Cart Bag Review

By: | Tue 20 Dec 2016

Feature review and test by Golfshake ambassador Andrew Picken in November 2016.

Bag boy are an American company that have been trading since 1946. They innovated with golf carts and now provide some excellent quality equipment that can be purchased world wide.

Known for their innovative approach to design the Bagboy revolver cart bag certainly reflects that pedigree. It is packed with interesting and useful design elements that are easy to use.

They describe it the ultimate cart bag taking club organisation to a new level with a fourteen-way club organiser which rotates and locks in place providing a unique way to access club.  Additionally the bag features 2 external putter tubes, 9 pockets including; insulated cooler pocket, 2 full length apparel pockets, hidden fleeced lined valuables pockets and ball sleeve.

Looks

The bags look great and the colour options available are attractive and easy on the eye. This looks like a quality product form the outset.

Feel

I really enjoyed using the bag and found the revolving top a really useful feature for keeping my clubs organised and available. The grip lock feature is great when moving around the course or being thrown into cars as the clubs are secure and better protected than most competitors products.

Performance

This bag works really well. It is easy to clean, the zips are of an excellent quality and the design and pockets are everything you would expect from a premium product.

The Revolver cart bag allow golfers to access any club by simply rotating the top 360 degrees. Featuring Clip-Lok technology, clubs can be locked into place for added protection.  Additionally the 14-way divider features a boomerang design to separate woods from irons and full-length individual dividers.

This full-feature bag has eight total pockets for ample storage including an oversized removable cooler pocket and two external putter tubes.

The bag looks great and has caused quite a bit of interest when I have used it recently. I have played 72 holes with it in a variety of weather conditions and it has performed really well.  The revolving head is actually really useful and not as gimmicky as I first thought.

Woods to the top, irons to the bottom and revolve them around as needed. It works really easily and helps keep clubs organised. If you regularly use a golf buggy this is a bag you should check out. The revolving top is a real benefit especially when canopies overhang the rear of the buggy the swivel mechanism gives very easy access to all clubs and is very handy when used with a trolley as well.

The external putter bays are great and there are two sides available whichever is your preference. I also like the putter clips that keep them fixed tightly to the side of the bag.

There are sufficient holes in the bag top to cater for the putter when in transit and the bag as a whole provides excellent protection for clubs when carried in cars or on planes.

I had the additional benefit of using the bag with the Quad XL and Tri Trolley purpose built by the same manufacturers Bag Boy. As a set they are excellent.

Build quality is excellent, sturdy, durable but light and there are a number of very clever design features within this bag.

I particularly liked the detachable cool pocket with pockets for valuables.  The cool bag lifts off easily and could keep both valuables and drinks when walking to the clubhouse between rounds etc.   I regularly play 36 holes and tend to leave my bag outside the clubhouse whilst having lunch. Having this feature makes it really easy to look after wallet, car keys and phone whilst away from the bag and trolley.

When I first got this bag I wasn’t immediately taken with it but over time I have really got to like it. It is easy to lift into the car as the reinforced pockets fall easily to hand.

It has a lovely balance when used on the trolleys and I have tried it with other makes of trolley and the base is compatible with them all.   The cart strap sleeve is also a great idea. Nothing worse than setting off and not having properly secured your bag and having it jettison off the buggy

Pros

Excellent design and innovation. Well executed product using good quality materials. Brilliant for use with a golf buggy.

Cons

It is slightly heavier than conventional bags but is still easy to manoeuvre into vehicles.

Bottom Line

I would happily make this bag my own and use it through the season. It is currently retailing at a RRP of £199.00 in the UK.
