Motocaddy S1 DHC Review
Motocaddy was founded a decade ago and bring you the very best in design, build and functionality to golfers young and old looking for a reliable and affordable golf trolley. It was also Motocaddy who led the drive towards Lithium as the most efficient and cost-effective battery option for powered golf trolleys.
This season’s range is their most comprehensive yet and includes the Motocaddy S1 DHC.
What Motocaddy say
Following an extensive upgrade for 2016, the brand new S1 incorporates a number of improvements including a soft-touch ergonomic handle; low-profile, quick-release wheels; a streamlined battery tray; and the super-fast QUIKFOLD assembly mechanism.
Add these to the nine speed settings, battery indicator and whisper-quiet motor, plus adjustable bag supports and compatibility with the popular EASILOCK™ system and it’s easy to see why the S1 is the world’s favourite electric golf trolley.
What does DHC technology offer?
Offering all the features of the standard S1, the additional 'DHC' (Downhill Control) functionality means that your trolley will also maintain a constant speed whilst travelling down hills - even on the steepest of slopes. The S1 DHC can also boast an easy-to-use electronic parking brake.

Looks
The classic, slick design will fit well for golfers of all ages. I really liked the colour and shape of the model and when coupled with the Motocaddy cart bag, it is a perfect match.
Feel
The first thing I was drawn to was the rubber grip on the handle. Thinking ahead to the winter period this, for me, this was a very smart touch from the designers to include, and will make it a lot easier during the wet weather to keep the trolley under control.
Performance
This model performed really well, as it sails over fairways and glides through the rough. The 'Down Hill Stop' is a great feature as you know that your trolley isn't going to run away from you if you let go when heading down a hill.
The different speed functions work via the simple twist of a dial and allows the trolley to tackle any type of terrain with ease.
The fact you can pop the wheels out to allow it to be pushed is another great feature.
A great all rounder with the added extras.
Pros
The slick design combined with the Downhill Stop, multi-speed function and push capability make this an excellent trolley.
Cons
I couldn't fault the Motocaddy S1 DHC.
Bottom line
All round a great product, which should suit all types of golfer. This trolley really does offer something for everyone.
