online tee booking

Posted by: user417527 | Wed 14th Sep 2011 18:09 | Last Reply

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of using www.mygolfpass.com

It looks like they email you cheaper vouchers for various courses at cost of £1.95 each, but has anyone actually used them before?

I am looking to play some golf in Scotland next week and thinking that this might be a way of getting some cheaper green fees, and was hoping to get some confirmation that this is a way to go.

It's not a site I'd heard of before you posted Neville.  Just had a quick look though and I don't think I use them.  The main reason is I can't find where it tells you exactly how much it's going to cost you.  All it says is the percentage you get off their "normal" rate.  After checking out my club, Shirland in Derbyshire, all it says is 50% off, but not 50% off what.  So, it would appear, you pay £1.95, they send you a 50% off voucher and you get the discount.  In my cliub's case half of the headline rate would be around £16, but various times are avaiabnle online for £8-£12 depending on what time of day you want to play.

I don't think i'd be handing over £1.95 (and it is £1.95 per person) without knowing exactly how much the golf was going to cost me.

I have a code for mygolfpass, but haven't used it before. I have however used teetimes.co.uk plenty of times and can highly recommend it!!

Thanks for your thoughts, guys. I have used teetimes and teeofftimes on numerous occasions, both excellent sites, but they don't seem to have a lot of courses in the area where I'll be heading to. Oh well, I will give it some thought and see what happens next week.

Hi Matt. I'm staying just outside Stirling for a week, and so far I've managed to avoid the worst of the rain from above. It's just underfoot where I've had it as an unwelcome stalker!

I've played Dunblane New Golf Club, which is one of the Teeofftimes courses, and that was a great experience. I didn't actually book the round through Teeofftimes though as I currently don't have anywhere to print off my booking confirmation.

I know that I should only need to let the course know the booking reference as confirmation of my booking, but I have had one or two occasions where even with a booking form I have had issues so tend to make sure I have it printed.

Good luck with getting more courses signed up for next year!
