Rarely got enough time for 18 holes

Posted by: user407798 | Mon 22nd Aug 2011 03:01 | Last Reply

I started playing golf again this year after a 10+ year lay off having got the bug again playing pitch and putt at Hayling Beachlands one day with a 12 handicapper friend and seeing him off!

Anyway my point is that I seemed to have recorded 33 rounds this year so far but only 3 rounds on full length 18 hole courses - 2 of which were on same day on my work's golf society day. At least finally have got a golfshake handicap - and better than I was before. My new Ping G15s help though!

Does anybody else find it difficult to spare the time to play a full round?

Perhaps handicap calculations could also be done on 9 holes. I am a runner mainly and so usually like to fit in a few holes after work - assuming done my running training! Or maybe I am just trying to do 2 sports and need to accept can't give full effort to both..

Hello Colin

Thanks for reply. Presume you are talking about actual club comps? I'll need to join a club first...

I don't think golfshake has a facility to adjust handicaps based on 9 hole submissions as yet? At the moment just using golfshake to assess my handicap based on my casual rounds with friends etc. etc.

I kind of get the feeling that the vast majority of golfers aren't in clubs which I guess why sites like this serve a good purpose.

Cheers

Tim
