Persimmon

Posted by: user89993 | Thu 18th Aug 2011 08:23 | Last Reply

Before you think I am going to change my clubs I am not....I had a round with some random fellow from our club and I noticed he was playing with actual woods. Even his drive was a wood. When I asked him, he said he had, had them for about a six months and been enjoying his game. He claimed he was playing of 22hcp and in the beginning of this year and now reckons he is playing of 15-16hcp. To be fair he was hitting some good shots. He was using a Persimmon Driver, 3 wood and 9 wood. Anyone out there use these or ever tried them?http://www.persimmongolf.co.uk/acatalog/Drivers.html

I use them all the time, they are nowhere near as violent as these metal junkies. The beautiful thing about them is the 'gear effect' which forces a ball hit off the toe to draw back to the middle and a shot out the heel forces it to fade back to the middle.. This is because the face of a persimmon is convex and not flat, like the metal monstrosities.

So, Jag, when you pop down to see me in September you will be able to have a go with them. I have three sets.
