Bad Week!

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Fri 8th Jul 2011 19:51 | Last Reply

Well I've had a terrible week so far......

Went to work on Sunday night as normal.  When I arrived back went into the office to be told that the hourly rate would be dropping from £11.50 to £10.50.  Gave me the option of staying on £11.50 per hour, but they would be paying nine hours only.  Now I've been on the job for a year and the best I've ever done the run in is nine and a half hours.

So they wanted me to do the same job on nights as the drivers on days, or get paid for nine hours and work the rest of the night for nothing.

Now looking for another job.  I would rather sit at home with nothing than work for nothing.

Then on Wednesday I went upto the golf club and had a round of golf.  Nothing special, spoiled a bit by slow play in front of me.

On the short drive home a young deer jumped out of the hedgerow straight in front of my car.  Nothing I could do so under the car the deer went!

When I got home I checked for the damage and found out that not only had it smashed my bumper but it had knocked my radiator off it's anchor and bent it back towards the engine block.  £250 excess for the insurance.

They say things come in threes so I'm sat at home now just waiting for the next thing to happen!

Sounds like a familiar story of the last couple of years... best to drive an old nail around where a £25o repair job is not an option & insurance is only 3rd party fire & theft. currently earning around half of what i was 3-4 years ago.. Glad i'm not a youngster these days...

Always look on the bright side of life - ho. hum - da dah da dah da dah! Cheer up, it could be far worse if you were living in the Sudan, Ethiopia or thereabouts!

Well a pretty good end to the week.

Played in my pairs match on the Abbotts course today and I had the best round this year.

Driving well, never in trouble off the tee.

We won our match 2 up.

Looking back over the round I have worked out I was seven or eight shots over par for the round.

Let's hope I get a job then things will certainly be looking up!
