British Open - Advice for a "live" golf novice
Hi
For the 1st time I am going to watch a tournament - the British Open.
Whenever I watch any golf on TV, there always seems to be people walking around and some stationary.
Anyone got any top tips for what I am sure will be a fantastic day?
Cheers

I've wondered the same thing. Do you follow a certain group around and watch only those players play all holes or do you stay in one place watching all the players but on only 1 or 2 holes?

I went to the BMW PGA this year, and it was my first "live" event.
You'll be surprised at how far you do walk, and how quickly you have to walk to keep up. My method was get a program to find out the tee-off times, and then pick your first group to follow. Follow them for a couple of holes, then wait and pick up a following group...and continue the process.
At points you have to make a decision to watch them hit the shot, or stand near the landing area/green and see it come in. Normally great days, and very tiring!

The Open in one day?
Practice Ground timed for when a favorite is due on. A look round the Tented Village, the Trade Tent is awsome. Get a seat on a stand where you can view a few areas, the stands on the left of 18 should have a view of the 1st Tee. Watch the groups finish, the atmosphere is usually great.
Enjoy the day.
