acceleration training

Hi, my names ben willis i'm a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer. i'm currently working on putting together a golf specific training programme using power plate vibration training. power plates are currently being used fairly extensively on the pga tour with endorsements from a number of top players including: Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood,  And Nick Dougherty.

The potential benifits of the power plate from a golfing point of view are huge and its my opinion that the plate lends its self to specific golf training than any other sport.

What i'm doing on the forum is simply trying to get some feed back on what fitness aspects you feel are most important to your game, and which ones have the most detrimental effect on your game.

do you suffer from a lack of flexability which hinders your swing, does your game suffer on the back nine due to a lack of stamina etc.

I understand that golf is first and foremost a skill sport but because of this the strength and conditioning aspect is neglected or completly ignored with most people favouring to spend there time on the course instead of hours in the gym without seeing much if any improvement to there game.

another huge benefit of the plate is that the workout is completed in 30 mins no more than twice a week meaning your not cutting into the time you could be playing.

sorry if i've gone on a little but i'm obviously very excited about this.

as a last note i'm also lookng for a number of players to be part of a study group wherein you will take part on a 4 week trial of the course and give feed back on how it helped your game what was good/bad etc, this would be free of charge obviously so please e-mail me [email protected] if your interested, want any more info or feel you could help in anyway.

thankyou for your time Ben
