The dreaded SHA*KS

Posted by: user16106 | Sun 27th Mar 2011 21:30 | Last Reply

Played  yesterday and played a pretty good front 9. 43 despite 2 double bogies and 2 shaks. Then it all went wrong 54 back home with another 3 shaks. I know why they happen but what makes me cause them to happen?  Would they be less/ more likely if I was doing a slight draw/ fade. I know we all get the odd one here and there, but 5 in one round. What am I doing wrong?

Is it as simple as standing slightly too close to the ball during address? PLEASE HELP. all advise however ridiculus will be taken seriously.

David,

from someone who suffered with them for 2 years on & off I changed my pro & he straight away spotted I was taking the club away on the outside causing me to come way inside on the downswing. A few tips & drills got me swinging the club on the inside which seems to have solved it for me.

When your next practicing take a few slow practice swings to see where your swing plane is.
