varifocals

Posted by: user41897 | Sun 13th Mar 2011 18:50 | Last Reply

I seem to be at that age where I am needing distance and reading glasses and am faced with bifocals or varifocals. Apart from being obscenly expensive I have concerns over whether they will be troublesome from a golf perspective.Anyone have an experience of this that they care to share? Would I be better with a pair of distance and a pair of reading and put up with the constant changing.

I wear varifocals with no problems at all, they certainly don't effect the golf. I have heard of some people not taking to them as some get a slighty blurred vision when looking to the side. My mum got this so she prefers Bifocals. If you go to your opticians they can give you a pair to try in the shop so you can see how you find them. They are expensive, the lenses alone will cost over £100. I got my prescription & then went to Direct Specs & saved a fortune ( go to a branch though rather than get them off the net although there is a £5 off voucher on their site that you can use in the shop). MIne cost me £115 which inlcuded a spare pair of VDU glasses, my optician wanted over £300.
