I HATE GOLF
Sorry folks. That isn't quite true, I love it but I started playing recently for the first time since I was a teenager. My Brother in law and his mate went and I sort of tagged along. It was embarassing as I was so bad. I know the old saying is that if at first you don't succeed, try again but I dont think I want to. I have no idea what my handicap is, well yes I do, I can't play. At all. Yet years ago I was so good, not a pro or anything but admirable at worst. I am not sure what has happened and the longer I played the worse I got. And the worse I felt too. Is there any hope for me.

Know how you feel!
If you genuinely have the interest back for the old game, then rather than go out slogging yourself to death, go see your local professional for a few lessons. A few spells in the range, get rid of the trying to hard stress. I am sure you will pick it back up again.
Worst thing you can do, especially if you were reasonably good years ago is to go straight into a full round of golf. It's sole destroying.
Take my tip & I know your love for the game will be back full on!
Good luck
David

I was the same, regarding seeing a Pro. I don't really like asking for things and thought I would have felt awkard, knowing how bad I am/was in front of a 'pro' however in my opinion and in my limited experience of pro's they have seen it all and really know their stuff.
A few pointers will probably set you in the right direction and get your enjoying the game once again. I felt that I improved a lot between sessions with the Pro because I was worried he would think I was not trying etc... So that sort of dread helped me.
